Flagship 120m full-custom Amels superyacht Project Tanzanite launched
The 120-metre full-custom Amels superyacht Project Tanzanite has been launched from the Damen Yachting facility in Vlissingen, The Netherlands. Project Tanzanite will now enter the final stages of outfitting.
Now the largest yacht in the fleet, Project Tanzanite began construction in 2020 and was seen for the first time in June 2023 when she was transported from the Damen Shipyards Galati facility in Romania, to the Damen Yachting facility in Vlissingen.
Known previously as Amels 477, Project Tanzanite features a five deck exterior design by Espen Øino International, with naval architecture by Damen Yachting. She is the largest Amels yacht built in collaboration with naval architect Espen Øino and is the company's flagship yacht.
Composed of a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, Project Tanzanite sports a sleek, sophisticated exterior profile that marries an elegant white colour, with a continuous stream of tinted windows along each of her decks. Over the course of the next year, more than 1000 craftsmen and women, from both the Damen Yachting team and extensive superyacht global supply chain will work to complete her.
The interior renderings of Project Tanzanite were unveiled in May 2024, offering a first look at her design. With an internal volume of 6,083 GT, Project Tanzanite is capable of hosting as many as 22 guests onboard, along with up to 44 crew members.
Guests onboard Project Tanzanite will benefit from a glossy marble staircase that encircles an elevator for easy transit between floors. Her main saloon is adorned with high, light-coloured ceilings, paired with neutral-coloured furnishings.
