Aquijo
At 85m in length, the Tripp-designed Aquijo is the largest high performance ketch in the world. Built by a first time partnership between Oceanco and Vitters, she is not merely motoryacht with sails. Her twin 90-metre masts carry identical 1,192-square-meter mainsails. With all up, including code sail, her total sail area leaps to a staggering 5,051 square metres. Because of the enormity of the project, all items such as shrouds, winches, jib sheets had to be custom made.
The clean modern interior, designed by Dolker + Voges, was designed to be flexible with multi-purpose spaces. Large windows provide light and a connection to the outdoor spaces. The project began in 2010 and was delivered in 2016. This is a first class sailing vessel designed to cruise around the world.
